Information on Coalville

Officers from Leicestershire Constabulary's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision in Twycross. 

The collision occurred at about 5.30pm yesterday (Thursday July 24, 2008) on B4116, Ashby Road approximately a kilometre north of its junction with Main Road and involved a dark grey Mitsubishi Shogun 4x4 and a red Case 310 tractor.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, Mr Michael Lewis Wickett (45) of Atherstone, Warwickshire received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the tractor was not injured.

PC Darren Symes-Goodman, who is investigating the incident, said: "The Mitsubishi was travelling towards Snarestone and the tractor in the opposite direction.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to contact us if they witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle beforehand.  Any information, no matter how small could help with our enquiries."
