12 November 2008 A Tale of Two Cities Exhibition at Snibston

Discover the unique Italian charm and character of Florence and Venice through Mike Burton’s exhibition of Digital Art Prints at Snibston from the 10 to the 28 November

Mike Burton has been travelling in Italy for over 20 years. In recent times he has turned his attention to the wealth of detail that gives cities such as Florence and Venice their unique charm and character.

In this, Mike’s second Snibston exhibition he draws upon past and recent images to explore a range of themes common throughout his work:

Architectural Detail: the very essence of the unique historic character associated with the city.

Elegant Decay: the manner in which what was once new, gains 'character' through a relentless battle with the elements.

Lifestyle: images that loosely chart the social and commercial life of a city and the people who live and visit there.

Sign Language: giving insight into cultural aspects of a city’s life.

Water, Light and Glass: elements that define the Venice Experience.

Sense of Place: vistas and atmospheres that locate emotions and personal experience within the confines of a city.

A wider range of his work can be found on his website www.anothervenice.co.uk. All works are available for purchase via the website or direct from Mike.

Mike is also a teacher in Coalville and who has worked in the local community for a significant number of years.

A Tale of Two Cities with a twist!
