Youngsters can learn about road safety this Christmas with a special event at Snibston Discovery Museum.
A road safety tutor will be on hand with cycling tips at on Saturday, December 27.
Jan Murby, from Leicestershire County Council’s Road Safety and Travel Awareness Team, will be at Snibston helping children perform basic cycle checks, as well as teaching them cycling skills and finishing with a ride around the site.
There will also be competitions with prizes and other road safety giveaways on the day.
Places on the workshops are limited, and anyone wishing to take part should book ahead if possible, but can just turn up on the day - subject to availability.
Nicholas Rushton, Deputy Leader of the County Council said: This is the perfect opportunity for any children who have received a bike for Christmas or those who fancy a bike ride over the holidays to come along and pick up some important tips.
"Our Road Safety Tutors do a fantastic job all year round keeping children safer on our roads.”
The cycling workshops are on Saturday, December 27, at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. They can be pre-booked by phoning 01530 278 444.
Snibston Discovery Museum is on Ashby Road in Coalville. To find out more, visit www.leics.gov.uk/snibston
