24 July 2009Youngsters learn fishing at Bosworth Park

Children can enjoy learning how to fish at Market Bosworth Country Park.

The country park rangers are providing fishing tuition at the Bow Pool lake from 10am until 2pm on Wednesday, 29th July. This is aimed at eight - 15-year-olds, though younger children can attend if they are accompanied by an adult.

The country park is handily located on the edge of picturesque Market Bosworth, which has an interesting range of shops and cafes to entertain the adults.

People can travel to the area by the hourly Arriva buses from Leicester, Hinckley or Coalville.

Places are limited so booking is essential. The cost is 6 per person. Call 01455 290429 to book a place or for more information. Car parking at the country park is an additional 1.50 for the day.

Participants need to bring their own rod, reel and pole. To be allowed to fish everyone who is 12 and over will also need a current Environment Agency rod licence. These are available from post offices at an extra cost.
