A man has been arrested in connection with an assault in a car park on Whitwick Road in Coalville.
The incident happened on Saturday August 8, 2009 at around 6pm and involved three people, two men and a woman.
A 37-year-old man had a substance sprayed in their face and was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment. He has since been discharged.
A 41-year-old man was arrested a short time later.
PC 819 Steve Harrison from North West Leicestershire local policing unit said: Im keen to speak to anyone else who was in the supermarket car park that day who may have witnessed this assault and the events leading up to it.
Lots of people carry out their shopping on a Saturday and many of us are creatures of habit and go at the same time every week. Were you entering or leaving the store at around 6pm that Saturday? Did you see the assault on this man or what happened directly before?
If so please get in touch.

Police in Loughborough are appealing for witnesses after copper gas pipes were stolen from two homes in the area.
The first incident was happened sometime between 10am on Friday August 14 and 2pm on Saturday August 15 when the copper piping was taken from alongside a house on Cumberland Road.
The second incident was reported to police on August 18 when a resident on Ling Road discovered a similar crime had been committed at their address.
PC 1655 Andy Dixon, who is investigating both incidents, said: There are clearly potential public safety risks with a crime like this but similarly it may have taken the people responsible a bit of time to get the copper piping away from the wall.
Im keen to speak to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in either Ling Road or Cumberland Road or has noticed anyone tampering with pipes.

Officers in Rutland are making a direct appeal to scrap metal dealers after the theft of 20 manhole covers.
The covers were all taken from the roads in Morcott, Ketton, Barrowden and South Witham between August 12 and 13, 2009.
Its possible they were taken to trade in at scrap metal dealers and officers are keen to hear from dealers who have been approached with similar items to weigh in.
PC 3029 Paul Anderson, who is investigating the crimes said: Quite clearly the theft of these manhole covers could have put the lives of the people using these roads at risk.
It has also resulted in great expense to the council who now have the job to replace them all.
Were not only appealing to scrap metal dealers but we also want to speak to anyone who may have seen anyone lifting the covers from the road. Were they with a vehicle, do you member the colour or make or model?
Do you know anyone who has a pile of manhole covers with no legitimate reason for having them. If so, please call me or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
