Families can keep the kids entertained for free at Snibston Discovery Museum this October half term thanks to a fantastic offer.
Special vouchers are available to use during the week entitling up to three children free entry into the museum when accompanied by one adult paying the full 6.75.
Theres always lots to see and do at the County Council attraction Snibston and in the galleries, visitors can lift a mini, make a fire, be inspired by the fashion gallery or have fun in the under fives play area.
Outside, kids can have fun climbing, sliding and swinging through the Big Sand Pit and Mini Miners Play Park. Its also the last chance for the little ones to make a splash in the Wild Water play area before it is closed for winter.
In addition to the usual fun that can be had inside and out of the museum, the beam engines will be running at Snibston on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd October giving visitors the chance to see the Bell and Morcom, Gimson and Gimson Horizontal engines in full working order.
From the 21st to the 28th October inclusive, people can travel on a restored 1960s passenger rail coach on a short round trip from the heart of the former mine eastwards into the centre of Coalville, plus westward to the old sidings complex.
With something for everyone, Snibston is a great value day out for all the family and not just at October half term. Snibston has an action packed year of exhibitions, activities and events with films, shows, music and comedy at the Century Theatre.
Visitors are urged not to miss:
- the Sporting A-Z exhibition where the fashion alphabet goes from Athens to Zola Budd by way of Elastane, football, skydiving, tennis and even Quidditch!
- Into the Forest which runs from 17th 29th October
- In Sheeps Clothing which runs from 21st November to May 2010
The half term ticket offer is valid between 17th October and 1st November.
