Families with children under five can come along and meet Santa at a free festive day of activities at Coalville Sure Start Childrens Centre.

The Childrens Centre in High Street, Coalville, (next to the library) will be holding the Winter Fun Day on Saturday, 28th November from 1pm-4.30pm as part of the Christmas in Coalville celebrations.

The event is for families with children under five, but their siblings are also welcome.

Activities include face painting, Christmas crafts, goody bags, refreshments and even a special visit from Santa. Vistors will also have the chance to take a look at the Childrens Centre, meet the staff, and find out about the activities and services it has to offer for them and their children.

At the Christmas in Coalville event, people will be able to see brother and sister duo, former X Factor finalists Same Difference, switch on the lights at 5pm in Memorial Square followed by a firework display.

Rachel Bower, a Family Outreach Worker, said: The Sure Start Winter Fun Days are exciting events for children, families, parents and carers.

A number of Family Outreach Workers, like myself, will be on hand to chat to, give information and introduce parents to the childrens centre and its services.

Ivan Ould, Lead member for Children and Young Peoples Services at Leicestershire County Council, said: I would encourage people to come along to Coalville Childrens Centre and take part in the festive fun.

It is an opportunity to not only get in the Christmas spirt, but to meet new people and find out about the fantastic services the centre offers.
