Local artists water colour paintings and other works will be on display at Snibston Discovery Museums free-to-view gallery throughout October.
The Ibstock Art Club is presenting its 4th Annual Art Exhibition at Snibstons Mezzanine Gallery from the 2nd October until 29th October 2010, which includes artwork from talented artists across North West Leicestershire created over the last year.
Mrs Pauline Smith, secretary of the club, said: "We are delighted to be able to make use of the excellent display space available at such a prestigious venue."
Cllr David Sprason, Leicestershire County Council Cabinet Member for Adults & Communities, said: We are proud to provide such an excellent venue for local communities to showcase their work and to promote their club to new members. Its success can be seen by its return to Snibston year on year.
The club, formed in 2007, meets at the Ibstock Community College on Wednesday mornings from 9.30am until 11.30am, and new members are very welcome, whatever their ability.
The exhibition is free to view at Snibston, Ashby Road, Coalville.
**Ends**
Snibston is set on the site of a former colliery and consists of a multi-award-winning interactive museum, colliery buildings of national significance, the Century Theatre, a country park and nature reserve.
The museum displays a rich and diverse collection of objects, telling the story of technology and design and how it has affected everyday life from the past to the present and into the future.
