Police are appealing for witnesses to several incidents on the north area.

Officers are appealing for witnesses following the report of a distraction theft in Coalville.

The incident happened at about 11.20am in the car park of a supermarket in Whitwick Road when the 53-year-old victim was approached by a woman asking for directions.

When the victim returned home she found that her purse and bank cards were missing and that money had been taken from her bank account.

The woman has been described as being white, 28 to 34-years-old and of slim build. She is 5'5" tall with mousey hair in a bob style.

PC James Walford, the investigating officers, said: We believe that someone inside the supermarket watched the victim type in her pin number and then targeted her in a distraction theft outside. I would urge people to be aware of this type of scam and to call police if they are approached.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a 24-year-old man was assaulted in Melton Mowbray last week.

The incident happened at approximately 3am on Wednesday June 8, when the victim became involved in an altercation with a woman.

The woman then hit the victim in the face and then walked away with a friend.

The victim did not require any medical treatment.

The suspect has been described as white, aged between 19 and 20-years-old, approximately 5ft tall and of large, chubby build. She has a round face, shoulder length black hair and was wearing a black top and dark coloured trousers.

PC Tom Pearson, the investigating officer, said: The victim did not know the suspect or her friend and so we are appealing for people who did know them or recognises them from the descriptions to come forward.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a burglary in Winster Drive. Thurmaston.

The incident happened between 11am and 2pm on Thursday, June 9 when access was gained to the property and a silver Sony laptop was taken.

DC Kim Potter, who is investigating the incident, would like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time in question.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to a burglary in Redwood Avenue, Melton Mowbray.

The incident happened between 5pm on Friday, May 27 and 6am on Tuesday, May 31 when electrical tools were stolen from a garage.

Property taken includes a De-Walt laser level, a De-Walt black holdall with yellow De-walt logo a BICC crimping tool BRM120, a pair of ratchet cable cutters and a Fluke multi-clamp and tester.

Police would like to speak to anyone who has been offered any of these items or has any information relating to the incident

Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted burglary in Main Street, Kirby Bellars.

The incident happened between 9am on Saturday, May 14 and 5pm on Tuesday, May 17 when someone attempted to enter the property. No access was gained and nothing was taken in the incident.
