Get on board with new bus maps and service guides

Brand new bus guides are winging their way to 100,000 homes across Leicestershire to help residents plan their journeys and raise awareness of the bus services in their area as part of the Choose How You Move Initiative.

The new leaflets, produced by Leicestershire County Council, contain the latest details on bus timetables, stops and routes and are landing on doormats from this week.

There are 14 guides in the series, each covering a town or part of the county, including one about bus services to Glenfield Hospital, Leicester General Hospital and Leicester Royal Infirmary.

The guides are also available online and are updated regularly so they contain the most up to date information. Residents and visitors can now visit www.leics.gov.uk/transport_downloads to sign up to a brand new mailing list to receive notification of changes to bus services in their selected areas.

Lesley Pendleton, Leicestershire County Council Cabinet Member for Environment and Transport, said: "The new town bus map and guides are valuable tools for passengers and enable them to plan hassle-free journeys.

"People choosing to travel by bus are not only helping to tackle road congestion but also reducing their carbon footprint at the same time."

Guides are available for: Ashby de la Zouch, Blaby, Coalville, Fosse Park, Hinckley, Loughborough, Lutterworth, Market Harborough, Measham Melton Mowbray, Oadby, Syston, Wigston and hospitals in Leicester.

They are available at www.leics.gov.uk/transport_downloads, by calling 0116 305 0002 or by emailing stg@leics.gov.uk.
