Police are appealing for public help following an attempted robbery in Coalville.

The robbery happened at around 5pm on Friday August 26, 2011 on the pathway that leads between Scotlands Industrial Estate and Forest Road.

A 27-year-old man was approached by three youths coming from the direction of Forest Road. One of the youths asked the man for his phone and when the man refused, he was punched in the face. The youths made off empty handed towards Forest Road.

They are described as white and between 15 and 16-years-old. The first is described as around 55 tall and of small build. He was wearing a dark blue jacket with the hood up, black tracksuit bottoms, white and green trainers and a dark beanie hat. The second is described as around 59 tall and of medium build. He had short brown unkept hair and was wearing a black jacket and trousers. The third is described as around 59 tall and of medium build.

PC John Camp, who is investigating the incident, said: Although the victims phone wasnt taken during the incident, it has left him feeling uneasy.

We are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward with information. Think back, do you remember seeing these three youths attempting to rob the victim?Maybe you recognise the youths from their descriptions? Any information you have, could help us with our investigation."
