Police are appealing for witnesses to a burglary in Coalville.

The incident happened between 10.30pm on Sunday, November 6 and 6.50am on Monday, November when access was gained to a property in Greenhill Road.

Property taken included two black leather handbags and some poems written by the elderly victims late husband.

PC Julia Brooks, who is investigating the incident said: This incident has left the victim very distressed and upset. The poems are of huge sentimental value to her and I would appeal to anyone who knows where they could be, to please let me know so I can try return them to her.

If you know anything about this incident, saw anything suspicious or know who could be responsible, please get in touch.

Anyone with any information about the incident is or the stolen property is asked to contact PC 4726 Julia Brooks on 101*, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officers identification number.
