Seasonal celebration to recognise County volunteers
The outstanding contribution made by volunteers in Leicestershire is to be recognised at a special, seasonal celebratory event.
Nearly 200 volunteers from across the county will be attending the Mince Pies and Music event which is being held from 10.30am 12.30pm at Snibston Museum in Coalville on Friday, December 9th.
The event has been organised and is being hosted by Leicestershire County Council. Guests will be able to enjoy seasonal refreshments such as mince pies, Christmas cake and non-alcoholic mulled wine and there will be singing by a choir of children from All Saints Church of England Primary School in Coalville.
Volunteers from museums including Harborough, Melton, Bosworth Battlefield, Donington le Heath Manor House, Snibston and Home Library Service volunteers and other library volunteers will be among the guests.
Jackie Dickinson, Chairman of Leicestershire County Council, will be attending the event. She said: This is a wonderful opportunity to recognise the remarkable dedication of volunteers in Leicestershire.
I would like to thank them all for their considerable efforts and would urge anyone who is interested in becoming a volunteer to contact the county council.
Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can call 0116 305 5956 or email: joan.berry@leics.gov.uk
Photo opportunity
Photographers and reporters are invited to attend the event at the Stenson and Ellis rooms, Snibston Museum, Ashby Road, Coalville between 10.30am and 12.30pm on Friday, December 9th.
