Robbery in Cropston Drive, Coalville
Officers are appealing for witnesses on a bus to come forward following the report of a robbery in Coalville on Monday.
The incident happened at approximately 7.45am on Monday December 19, when the 17-year-old victim was approached by two men as she stood at the bus stop in Cropston Drive.
One of the men threatened the young woman and demanded she hand over her mobile phone.
The victim handed over her black BlackBerry 9900 Bold and watched as the two men ran away along Greenhill Road.
No-one was injured during the incident.
The two men are described as being white, about 18-years-old and of slim build.
One of them was approximately 54 tall with distinctive gaps in his teeth. He was wearing dark clothing with a red baseball cap and was carrying a white carrier bag. The second man was approximately 510 tall and was wearing a hooded top with the hood pulled up.
Detective Constable Alf Doyle, the investigating officer, said: The victim was very scared following the incident and is keen to have her phone returned, she had only had it two weeks.
The likelihood of people being in the area when the incident happened is increased because of the time of day, with people travelling to work and school.
If you live in the area, were driving by or was on one of the passing buses then you may have seen something. The number 11 bus passed just prior to the incident so passengers on that bus could have vital information and I would urge them to come forward.
If you recognise either of the people described or think you can help with our investigation then please get in touch.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 170 Alf Doyle by dialing 101. Follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer, and when prompted key in the officers identification number 0170. Alternatively, you may contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.
* Please note, some mobile phone networks may charge for this call
